Devotees typically begin their trek from Janki Chatti, from where a 6 km trail leads to the Yamunotri Temple. For those unable to trek, ponies and palkis are available for the ascent.
At the temple, visitors can perform rituals and take a holy dip in the Yamuna River. The thermal springs near the temple, known as Surya Kund, are famous for their medicinal properties. Pilgrims often cook rice and potatoes in these hot springs as part of their offerings.

DAY 02: BARKOT – YAMUNOTRI – BARKOT {30kms drive & 6kms Trek (one side)}Early morning after breakfast drive to Jankichatti / Phoolchatti & star trek from here to Yamunotri (6kms) (Either by walk or by horse or by Doli at own cost). After taking bath in Jamunabai Kund's warm water and having "Darshan" of "Yamunaji" return to Jankichatti by trek. Later drive towards Syanchatti, Dinner and overnight stay at Barkot. |
